Natural timber is a wonderful thing, I prefer to keep things simple as far as finishing goes and celebrate the natural shades and variations.

Meet the Woods

Oak- The Reliable One

Strong, dependable, and timeless. Oak is has beautiful grain and character that only improves with age. If you're looking for something that will be part of your home for generations, Oak is always up to the job. The bright bands are called Medullary Rays.

Ash- Surprising Variety

Ash can be so many things. Olive Ash gives a darker hue, at the other end is a beautiful light banded wood and somewhere in the middle is a wonderful combination which offers incredible dark banding, Ash loves to push boundaries. Its bold grain and natural flexibility make it a favourite for contemporary designs, combining practicality with effortless style.

Maple- Bright and Beautiful

Maple or Sycamore is bright and beautiful, offering clean lines and incredible contrasts. When caught by the light the wood appears almost white. Fantastic on its own or mixed with other timbers as a contrasting and complementary partner.

Sapele - the African Connection

Sapele is from West Africa and is sourced from carefully managed forests. A stunning timber with bright ribbons of contrast across its darker heart. Often written off as a structural timber only, I happen to love its use in furniture.

Walnut - Dark and luxurious

Ahh, Walnut. Beautiful, dark, smooth. The complementary banding in the wood itself adds a touch of refinement and class.

Most Walnut is sourced from Europe and North America and looks quite at home here.

Cherry- The Show off

Cherry knows how to make an entrance. Beginning with warm golden tones before maturing into a rich reddish-brown, it becomes more beautiful with age. Elegant, refined, and never afraid to steal the spotlight.

My Commitment to Sustainability

Every piece I create begins long before I step into the workshop-as I start to doodle and design I am also considering the right timber. I'm committed to sourcing my wood responsibly, working with trusted local suppliers wherever possible and ensuring that every board comes from sustainable, well-managed sources.

Using responsibly sourced timber not only helps protect our forests for future generations but also supports local businesses and reduces the environmental impact of transportation. By carefully selecting quality hardwoods, I'm able to create furniture that is built to last, reducing waste and encouraging a more sustainable approach to craftsmanship.

For me, sustainability isn't a marketing promise-it's simply the right way to work. It's about respecting the materials, the environment, and creating handcrafted furniture that can be enjoyed, repaired, and passed down for generations.
